From the beginning, we are very clear that grooming and aesthetics should never be the priority whether from a owner or from a groomer’s point-of-view. Even while we’re trainees, it was clear that grooming was unnatural to the animals, something imposed upon them inorder to make living together possible.
That’s also the reason why we decided to explore the Low-Stress Handling certification in 2015. In a short span of 8 years since we got certified, we are amazed at how much we’re able to reduce the discomfort and stress animals go through during grooming.
Really, psychological well-being should be prioritized above all else, whether you’re taking care of animals, children or yourself. It still saddens me to see pets (or children) who are aggressive, not because that’s who they are, but what we’ve made them to be.
